How does the publishing process work with Above The Line Press?
Our publishing process is collaborative and structured. Once your manuscript is approved, we guide you through professional editing, cover design, interior formatting, ISBN registration, and distribution setup. You’ll review and approve each major phase before moving forward. Our goal is to ensure your book is polished, professional, and positioned for impact.
What is hybrid publishing?
Hybrid publishing is a model that combines elements of traditional publishing and self-publishing. Authors make an investment in the production process (editing, design, formatting, etc.), while the publishing company provides professional expertise, project management, and distribution support. Unlike traditional publishing, authors retain greater creative control and typically earn higher royalty percentages.
How long does the publishing process take?
The timeline varies depending on the readiness of your manuscript, but most projects take approximately 3–6 months from signed agreement to publication. This includes editing, revisions, design, formatting, and final approvals.
Do I keep the rights to my book?
Yes. In a hybrid publishing model, authors typically retain ownership of their intellectual property while granting the publisher specific rights to produce and distribute the book. Full details are outlined clearly in your publishing agreement.
Where will my book be available?
Once published, your book can be distributed through major online retailers such as Amazon and other global distribution channels in both print and digital formats, depending on your selected publishing package.
